Growth at ACCFS ACCFS is growing with the addition of a new counselor in June and a new building project.
Due to this growth, both in our staff and the scope of services we provide, the elders have approved a new building project for us. Currently, funds are being raised for this project and the plans are nearly complete. We are all looking forward to moving out of our rather tight office space and into a new building in Morton. Hopefully, ground-breaking will occur in March. We appreciate your prayers both for this project specifically and also for the ongoing ministry of ACCFS.New Teen Financial Stewardship Program New materials are now available for teens from Crown Financial Ministries.
A recent newspaper article confirmed that the number of high school students with credit cards has tripled in the past two years. This growth in teen credit card debt shows a lifestyle of instant gratification and the inability (or unwillingness) to live within one’s means.
The student manual “Discovering God’s Way of Handling Money Teen Study” is a 10-week edition that has been modified specifically for the Apostolic Christian Church. It is designed especially to give teens practical help in creating habits that will set them on a lifelong journey of handling money responsibly.
God realizes that money will be a huge part of our lives. And, because God cares for us, He wants to help us handle money wisely. Therefore, the Lord gave us some very practical truths in the Bible that are like a map to guide us on our financial journey. They are a gift from a loving God intended to help us. In this book they will learn what God wants them to know about: how to earn money in their job, how to save regularly, how to give generously, how to spend wisely, how to stay out of debt, and much, much more.

The New Mentor Training Program The new Mentor Training Program is helping people to understand the mentoring role and to develop skills that will enable them to be effective and godly mentors. Participants are selected by their elders to attend a one-day training session designed to explain the biblical concept of "mentoring" and to give clear instructions on how to perform the mentor''s role. Those who complete the session will be able to understand the purpose and role of mentoring, both as a biblical concept and as a resource tool for elders to expand their counseling role, learn what a mentor does, to gain confidence in undertaking the role of mentoring, learn about issues of confidentiality, understand the elder-counselor-mentor relationship, and identify sources of support. This program, developed by the Apostolic Christian Counseling and Family Services, is currently enrolling candidates for the scheduled training sessions.
Update on Biblical Financial Stewardship Program The Crown Program of Biblical Financial Stewardship has been well received by a growing number of Apostolic Christian Churches. A total of five books have now been modified specifically for the Apostolic Christian Church. They are available for purchase from Apostolic Christian Publications. For a description of the Crown program, select the "Financial Stewardship" tab on the "Special Services" section of the website. The Crown program of small group Bible studies is well under way in the following congregations: Roanoke, Bloomington-Normal, Latty, Phoenix, Morton, Taylor, Detroit, Bluffton, Bluffton North, Sabetha, Peoria, Princeville, Washington, Champaign, Junction, Goodfield, Sarasota, Gridley, and Sardis. Others are in the planning stage, including Tucson, Fort Myers, Rittman, Alto, Bay City, Elgin, Winthrop, San Diego, and Toledo. Nearly 1,000 copies of the Small Group Student Manual have been sold since the program started in November 2006.
